Can’t scan the QR code to install your Vostra eSIM? Don’t panic, manual installation is a quick and easy solution.

If you’re having trouble scanning the QR code provided during your Vostra eSIM activation, you can proceed with a manual installation in a few steps. This method allows you to configure your eSIM by directly entering the required information into your device’s settings.

How to manually install your Vostra eSIM?

To initiate manual installation, go to the « Home » section of your Vostra app, located in the menu bar. Then, select the « Other installation methods » option, and choose « Manual installation ». You will then be guided through the specific steps for your operating system:

For Apple iOS devices (iPhone and iPad)

1. Add an eSIM: Open your device’s « Settings » app. Then select the « Cellular Data » tab, and tap « Add eSIM ». If the « Add eSIM » option does not appear, it unfortunately means your device is not compatible with eSIM technology.

2. Install the eSIM: On the next screen, choose the « Use QR Code » option. A new option will then appear: « Enter Details Manually ». Click on it.

3. Enter the activation code: You will now need to copy and paste the specific activation information for your Vostra eSIM. These essential details, namely the required « value » and « code », are available in the « Install by entering a code » section of your Vostra app. Once the information is entered, tap « Next ».

4. Activate the eSIM: Click « Continue » to start the activation process for your eSIM.

5. Finalization: Tap « OK » to confirm the initial activation. Then, click on the label of the newly added eSIM.

6. Rename the eSIM: It is very important to assign a distinctive name to your Vostra eSIM to facilitate its identification. In the custom label field, enter « Vostra », then confirm by clicking « OK ». Then, tap « Continue ».

7. Default number for calls and SMS: Select the option corresponding to your primary SIM card (usually « Primary ») for calls and SMS, then click « Continue ». Repeat this step for cellular data configuration.

8. Cellular Data: Reopen the « Cellular Data » menu and select « Vostra » (the eSIM you just installed). Your eSIM is now installed!

For Samsung Android devices

1. Open SIM settings: Access your device’s « Settings » app. Then select « Connections », then « SIM Manager ».

2. Add an eSIM: Click « Add eSIM », then choose the « Other methods… » option. If the « Add an eSIM » option is not visible, your device might not be eSIM compatible.

3. Enter the activation code: Select « Enter activation code ». You will then need to copy and paste the specific activation code for your Vostra eSIM. You will find this code in the « Install by entering a code » section of your Vostra app. Then click « OK », then « Add ».

4. Rename the eSIM: To easily distinguish your Vostra eSIM from your primary SIM card, it is recommended to rename it. Click on « eSIM 1 » (or a similar name), then select « Name ». Enter « Vostra » and confirm by clicking « OK ».

5. Final checks: Select « Vostra » in the SIM manager and make sure your « Primary SIM Card » is set to « SIM 1 » (or your main physical SIM card).

For Google Pixel Android devices

1. Open SIM settings: Open your device’s « Settings » app. Select « Network & internet », then « SIM ».

2. Add an eSIM: Click « Add SIM », then « Download a new eSIM ». If the « Add an eSIM » option does not appear, this indicates that your device is not compatible with the eSIM feature.

3. Activate eSIM via code: When the « Scan QR code » page appears, tap « Need help? ». Then select « Enter it manually ». Copy and paste your Vostra eSIM activation code, which you will find in the « Install by entering a code » section of your Vostra app. Tap « Continue ».

4. Download the eSIM: Tap « Download », then « Settings ».

5. Rename the eSIM: For easy identification, it is advisable to rename your Vostra eSIM. Tap « eSIM », then « Edit ». Select the eSIM again to rename it, enter « Vostra », and finally, tap « Save ».
