📱 Is my device compatible with an eSIM?

Updated over a month ago

To enjoy Vostra services, it is essential to have an eSIM-compatible device. Compatibility primarily depends on your device’s manufacturer (Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and many others) and the specific version of your model.

🔍 Three methods to check your device’s eSIM compatibility:

  1. Check your device settings: Go to your smartphone’s settings and look for the « Add an eSIM » option. If this option does not appear or if an error message is displayed, your device is unfortunately not compatible with eSIM technology. Feel free to come back when you have a compatible device.
  2. Consult our list of compatible devices: Vostra offers an updated list of models that support eSIM.
  3. Check if your device is unlocked: A smartphone locked by an operator may prevent eSIM usage. Check if your phone is unlocked by reviewing the available information. Devices purchased directly from mobile operators are often subject to restrictions related to specific contracts.

📋 Examples of compatible devices:

🍎 Apple iOS Devices:

  • iPhone 13, 14, and later versions
  • iPad Pro (recent models with integrated eSIM)

🤖 Samsung Android Devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22, and newer models
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and later versions

⚠️ Important: Device unlocking

To ensure optimal eSIM functionality, make sure your device is not locked by an operator. If your phone is still under contract with an operator, it may be blocked. Contact your provider to request an unlock if necessary.

💡 What if my device is not compatible?

In case your smartphone does not support eSIM, try investing in an eSIM adapter. Once installed, the eSIM adapter gives you access to all the benefits of this technology.
